The southern end of the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast continued to rock on Wednesday with several earthquakes near Cape Mendocino in Northern California. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 4.4-magnitude quake was the largest located west to southwest of Petrolia, CA. Also in the grouping was a 2.6-magnitude west to northwest of Petrolia, CA, and a 2.8-magnitude also west to northwest of Petrolia, CA. A fourth quake was located on the outer fault line, 2.8-magnitude also west to northwest of Petrolia, CA.
