A couple of earthquakes shook the area around Cape Mendocino in Northern California Tuesday where two fault lines begin that run parallel with the Oregon Coast.  According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 3.1-magnitude quake was recorded at 10:46 a.m. and was located west to northwest of Rio Dell, CA.  The second quake, a 2.9, occurred at 5:44 a.m. and was located north to northeast of Willow Ck., CA.
