This story comes out of Albany. Not sure if it is a case of right time, right place, or just dumb luck. On Nov. 3rd, a detective with the Linn Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team was southbound on I-5 when he came upon a 26-foot long U-Haul box truck. He immediately recognized the strong odor of marijuana. The detective radioed ahead and had the truck stopped. Vidal Gonzales-Tetlctel, Hermiston, and Jose Guadalup-Alatorre, Redway, CA, stated they were hauling furniture; however, that was not the case. The marijuana odor was too overwhelming. Inside the truck officers discovered large black plastic garbage bags of marijuana and grow equipment. The plants weighed in at an estimated 2,800 lbs. Officers estimated the overall value at $2.2 million.
