An early morning fire at the Salishan Resort on the Central Oregon Coast caused about $150,000 to $200,000 in damages, but no guest had to be evacuated and no one was injured. Mutual Aid was requested by the Depoe Bay Fire Dept. which responded to the 1:30 a.m. 911 call on Wednesday, May 20. The fire broke out around a chimney in the two-story lodge. General Manager Todd Cooley says most of the damage was done by water, but added they were nearly back to normal that night. The lodge is just one of the twenty buildings on the 250-acre resort in Gleneden Beach.
