SCINT Drug Bust
News release from the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team, “On January 15th 2014 a traffic stop by a Reedsport Police Department Officer resulted in the arrests of Ashley Dawn Gomez and Sergio Llamas-Fernandez and the discovery of about 3.8 pounds of methamphetamine bound for Coos County from Vancouver Washington. SCINT Detectives were notified and responded to continue the investigation. Continued investigation revealed the methamphetamine was being delivered to a residence in the unincorporated area of Coos Bay commonly referred to as Green Acres. In the early morning hours of January 16th 2014 SCINT Detectives assisted by, Coos County’s Emergency Response Team, Oregon State Police Detectives, Douglas County Interagency Narcotics Team, Coos County Sheriff’s Office and Coquille Tribal police officer Robert Scoville and “canine Stormy” executed a search warrant at the residence of Randolph Rossback located at 93615 Upper Loop Road, Coos Bay Oregon. An additional two ounces of methamphetamine, a firearm, coins, jewelry and over $21,000.00 in U.S. currency was located during the search of the residence. Randolph Rossback was arrested on the listed charges and the case has been referred to the Coos County District Attorney’s office for prosecution. Ashley Gomez and Sergio Fernandez’s case has been referred to the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office. The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are anticipated. Assault
News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. “On the above date (3-9-14), the Coos County Sheriff’s Office responded to 92250 Hilltop Road, Coquille to the report of a disturbance in progress. It was reported that Wendy Welch, age 39 of Coquille had become out of control with family members and had attempted to stab her daughter, 24 year old Adriana Welch with a kitchen knife. The knife was taken away by another family member while law enforcement responded. As a result of an investigation it was learned that Wendy Welch had cut her daughter on the back with a weapon during the scuffle. Wendy Welch was taken into custody by Sheriff’s deputies on charges of Assault III and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. She was taken to the Coos County Jail and lodged on the new charges as well as outstanding warrants out of the Coos Bay Police Department for Aggravated Theft and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. She was lodged without bail. Adriana Welch did not require medical attention at the scene.”
