A North Oregon Coast male will be tried a second time on a Criminally Negligent Homicide charge involving the May 14, 2013 death of a 42-year old man attempting to dribble a soccer ball from Seattle, WA to Sao Paulo, Brazil. Richard Swanson was attempting to raise awareness for the One World Futbol charity by dribbling from the Space Needle to the 2014 World Cup. However, he was struck and killed from behind on Hwy. 101 by a pickup truck operated by Scott Von Hiatt of Neskowin. His first trial in Lincoln County ended in a hung jury. A second trial is scheduled to being July 8.
