Shots Fired on Central Coast, Jan. 26

News release from the Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office. On January 22, 2016 at approximately 10:44am, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at the Fogarty Creek RV Park located on Highway 101 near the north end of Depoe Bay, Oregon. Dispatch advised they received a call from a female advising her boyfriend had just shot the front of her Mazda passenger car with a long rifle or shotgun and was upset over their impending break up. The subject reportedly put the gun down after firing the round and started throwing the callers personal property out of their trailer. Oregon State Police Troopers responded to assist and arrived on scene and detained the suspect. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Detective Abbey Dorsey arrived on scene along with other deputies to investigate the incident. Several witnesses, including the victim caller, were contacted and interviewed regarding the incident. Sheriff’s Office detectives obtained and executed search warrants on the involved parties’ trailer at the location as well as the involved vehicle. Detectives recovered a shotgun believed to be the weapon used during the incident, as well as Methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia, from the trailer. Investigation revealed 32 year old Depoe Bay resident Nicholas Allen Bordelon was involved in a verbal altercation with his adult female companion. The female attempted to leave in the Mazda sedan at which time Bordelon fired one round from a shotgun into the grill and engine block on the front of the car in an attempt to disable it. The female was in the driver’s seat of the sedan at the time the round was fired but was not injured as a result of the incident. Bordelon was taken into custody by Detective Dorsey and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail. Bordelon was charged with one count each of Unlawful use of weapon, Pointing a firearm at another, Menacing, Recklessly endangering, Coercion, and Possession of Methamphetamine. His bail was set at $195,000.
