It reportedly started with the transfer of an inmate from Lane County to the Shutter’s Ck. Minimum Security Correctional Facility north of North Bend. That inmate tested positive for the COVID-19 virus on April 9. What has followed has been a spread of the deadly virus in the now quarantined facility. According to State Dept. of Corrections officials, eight cases of COVID-19 have now been confirmed at Shutter’s Creek. They are the only cases reported in Coos County.
