Quake
Another moderate sized earthquake shook the Pacific Ocean seafloor off of the South Oregon Coast, Thursday, March 13. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the 5.2-magnitude quake occurred at 12:11 p.m., 132-miles west of Gold Beach. A 2.5-magnitdue quake also was recorded Thursday at 11:47 a.m., 35-miles south to southwest of Eureka, CA where two fault lines begin that run parallel with the Oregon Coast.
Quake off Coos Bay
A moderate sized earthquake shook the Pacific Ocean seafloor west of Coos Bay Tuesday, March 11, about 250-miles offshore. The 5.1-magnitude quake, which did not create a tsunami, follows a series of quakes that occurred in the Cape Mendocino area of Northern California where two fault lines begin that run parallel with the Oregon Coast.
