On October 23, 2015, at 6:42 PM, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a person reporting a deceased male near the Lake Selmac boat ramp. Sheriff’s Deputies responded and found Roger L. HUNTINGTON, age 43, of Crescent City, deceased in his black Chevrolet Trailblazer. Sheriff’s deputies requested the assistance of the Oregon State Police. After initial investigation by detectives with the Oregon State Police, the Josephine County Major Crime was activated to investigate HUNTINGTON’s death which is being investigated as a homicide. The Josephine County Major Crime consists of the Josephine County District Attorney’s Office, the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon State Police. Anyone who has information regarding this investigation or was in the area of Lake Selmac on Friday afternoon and may have seen HUNTINGTON or his vehicle is encouraged to contact the Oregon State Police Southern Command Center at 541-776-6111.

Homicide Arrest
On October 25, 2015, Oregon State Police detectives arrested Carroll E “BJ” BALLARD and Blake R SIBLEY for Murder and Robbery 1 related to the death of Roger L HUNTINGTON. Both BALLARD and SIBLEY are Texas residents. They were lodged in the Josephine County Jail in Grants Pass. The Josephine County Major Crime team is asking the public for assistance in locating a third suspect, Marshall William MCKENNA, age 23. MCKENNA is a white male, with blond hair and green eyes. He is approximately 5’9″ tall and approximately 160 pounds. It is possible he is still in Oregon, current information suggests he may have fled the state. His last known address is in Ponder, Texas. Anyone with information on MCKENNA is encouraged to call 911 or the Oregon State Police Southern Command Center at 541-776-6111. The public should not attempt to contact MCKENNA, he should be considered armed and dangerous.
