Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Small Business Development Center (Southwestern SBDC) is offering a training series that focuses on the tools to build, repair and maintain a profitable business. Even successful businesses can benefit from the chance to learn new tools and techniques. One of the best benefits according to past participants is the chance to network with other business owners. This statewide initiative has benefited thousands of Oregon businesses over the past 35 years. The Small Business Management’s (SBM) unique format includes nine 3-hour training sessions delivered on the third Thursday each month from July 20, 2017 through March 15, 2018. Each session will feature discussion of a business topic, highlight a participating business and provide an overview of how to apply specific business tools. Entrepreneurs will focus their priorities for success and create an action plan to reach business goals. The price of this dynamic training is only $500. Tribal members and chamber members receive a $75 discount off the price of the course. In addition to the nine sessions of training, each participating business will receive individual business advising with one of the SBDC’s qualified advisors. Participants also receive business tools and books and much more, a $2,500 value. This training series offers an incredible networking opportunity for local business owners. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn, grow and become a more profitable business. In the Small Business Management program business owners will learn about: marketing, branding, cash flow, financial statements, mobile apps, mobile friendly websites and cyber security. One recent attendee commented, “Wow, I learned so much from this course and it’s amazing the business relationships I developed in the program. I think every business should participate in this training. It will open your eyes.” Preregistration at http://www.socc.edu/sbdc is required to insure seating availability and materials. The course will be held in Coos Bay at the Newmark Center, 1988 Newmark Ave., Room 207 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
