News release from the Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office. On March 24, 2015, Deputy Bruster of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence, just outside the city limits of Toledo, on report of a stabbing. The deputy contacted the male victim and started an investigation which revealed he was stabbed multiple times with a knife in the early morning hours at the location. The victim was transported to the Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport where he received treatment for his injuries. During the course of the investigation Axl K. Goodell, 22 years of age from Siletz, was identified as the suspect of the stabbing. The Sheriff’s Office obtained an arrest warrant for Goodell and, with assistance from other law enforcement agencies, began checking the local area for him. Information was developed that persons within Lincoln County were likely harboring Goodell and providing him with means of transportation. On April 7, 2015, the U.S. Marshalls Service, working in conjuction with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, arrived in the area of 218 Gwee Shut Rd., Siletz and observed Goodell getting into a sport utility vehicle. The Marshalls then contacted Goodell and took him into custody without incident. Goodell was with a female, Kellie A. Kaiser, 19 years old from Siletz. She was identified as the owner of the sport utility vehicle and placed under arrest for assisting with Goodell’s flight from authorities. Both Goodell and Kaiser were transported to the Lincoln County Jail. Goodel was lodged on the warrant, listing charges as: Attempted Murder, Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the second Degree and Unlawful use of a weapon. His bail was set at $250,000.00. Kaiser was lodged and charged with Hindering prosecution. Her bail set at $50,000.00.
