Gold Beach Police sent out a teletype region wide following the discovery of a break-in and theft of 20 handguns from the Rogue Outdoor Store the last week of July. The break-in and theft were discovered early Wednesday morning, July 29. Police investigators believe the break-in occurred the night before. The front door was forced open and a glass case at the back of the store was opened where the guns, mostly nine-millimeters, were stored. They were valued at over $11,000.
