Southwestern Oregon’s men bettered College of the Redwoods in Eureka, CA Friday at the Bigfoot-Cardinal Classic basketball tournament. The Lakers beat Shasta College 77-75 on Saturday. SWOCC (6-1) next plays in the Dale Bates Classic at Lane CC in Eugene Friday, 6 pm, against New Hope. Southwestern Oregon’s women’s basketball team opened the 2016-17 collegiate basketball season with a 68-48 win at home over visiting George Fox JV on Sunday in Coos Bay.
