Southwestern Oregon’s men host Rogue CC in a soccer match in Coos Bay Wednesday, Oct. 7, 4:15 p.m.

Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Cross Country Teams had their best showing ever at the 41st Charles Bowles Willamette Invitations Cross Country Meet Saturday the October 3rd. “We did exceptionally well against the scoring teams. We did much better than we had hoped coming into the race. There were many athletes that were no associated with full scoring teams so we did not think we did very well but when the team scores were tabulated we did great.” The Laker women placed 9th with 123 points out of a field of 19 teams. The Lakers were led by Alexis Crellin with a 22nd place at 22:22 followed by Kennedy Pendergrass at 23:01 for 23rd place. Stephanie Gouveia was 24th at 23:53 and Amber Pell placed 26th at 24:53. The Lakers 5th place runner was Nikko Ortiz at 25:48. On the Men’s side the Lakers were led by Freshman Bard Ferner who ran a 26:35 for the 8K course and Placed 18th for the scoring athletes. Jesus De Leon was 22nd at 26:59 followed by team mate David Flores at 27:41. Mason Smith was the 4th runner to come in for the Lakers at 28:44 for 31st place and Austin Hutchins was 34th at 29:12, breaking the 30 minute barrier his first time running the 5 mile run. The Lakers were 10th Place overall with a team score of 129 Points. The Lakers will run at the Wes Cook GFU Invitational hosted by George Fox this Saturday.
