CCSO release – On Friday August 26, 2021, at about 7:50 pm, Deputies were dispatched to the Tree Acres Gas Station, located at 72327 State Highway 101 in Lakeside for a reported trespass. The caller had reported a male had purchased items in the store and he was now asking for drugs, and he would not leave Tree Acres property. Tree Acres employees stated they wanted him trespassed. Upon the deputy’s arrival at about 8:41 pm, the Deputy found 49-year–old Mr. Steven Michael Hancock sleeping on top of a picnic table under the Tree Acres Gas Station awning. The deputies woke Steven who verbally threated them multiple times by saying he was going to “Beat them down”. After a few minutes, Steven stated he would leave Tree Acres property. Steven began to walk away from Tree Acres, but them came back and threatened the Deputies again. Steven was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was lodged on the charges of Trespassing 2nd Degree, Disorderly Conduct in the 2nd Degree.
