CCSO release – On 08/26/21 at approximately 08:01 a.m. a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to Seven Devils near milepost 13 to a report of several vehicles parked in or near the roadway. Upon arrival the deputy located at least one vehicle parked partly in the roadway and contacted the occupants of that vehicle. During the contact one of the individuals later identified as 37 year old Blake E. Reynolds of Coos Bay, pulled a can of pepper spray and sprayed the deputy in the face prior to fleeing from the location on foot to evade capture. Coos County Sheriff’s Office K9 Cena was called to the location to conduct a criminal apprehension track for Mr. Reynolds. K9 Cena tracked for approximately two miles through several properties, drainages, ridges and creeks. K9 Cena ultimately located Mr. Reynolds hiding in thick brush where he was taken into custody without incident. Mr. Reynolds was transported to the Coos County Jail where he was booked on an outstanding warrant for his arrest and the new charges of, Assaullting a Public Safety Officer, Assault IV, Escape II, and False Info to Police Officer.
