On Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at approximately 6:40 P.M. Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near milepost 7. Preliminary investigation revealed that a black 2018 GMC Denali, operated by Dennis William Donnelly (72) of Medford, was traveling northbound on Interstate 5 when he suffered a medical event. During the event he drove into the back of a Commercial Motor Vehicle traveling in the same direction. Donnelly was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The driver of the CMV, Vasile Barsan (49) of Tulalip, Washington, was not injured. One lane of Interstate 5 northbound was closed for approximately 1.5 hours following the crash.
