Umpqua Bank has announced it will close 26 of its branches this summer because of the increase use of online banking by its customers. Umpqua has 118 branches in Oregon and more than 350 in its five-state region. Sales last year were reported strong with 253.8 million earned, compared to $202.5 million the previous year. Company officials have not announced which branches will be closed.
