The Unemployment Rate for Coos, Curry & Douglas counties during the month of March 2020 was still less than the previous month and previous year despite the COVID-19 outbreak according to figures from the Oregon Employment Dept. In Coos Co., the jobless rate was 4.3% in March. That compares with 5.7% the year before. Curry Co. also saw a dip, down from 6.4% the previous year to 4.7% this year. Douglas Co. continued the trend with a 4.5% unemployment rate last month, down from the 5.6% in 2019. Oregon overall had a jobless rate of 3.3% in March, down from the 4.1% the prior year.
