News release from CBPD. On Sunday, January 10, 2016 a 12:27am Coos Bay Police officers responded to a 911 call from a person who witnessed suspicious circumstances causing him to believe a co-worker’s vehicle had just been broken into in the downtown area. The caller followed the suspect from a distance and was able to provide a location and description of the man. When officers arrived they contacted the suspect and identified him as Kyle Anthony Beltran (24), a Coos Bay resident. During the subsequent investigation officers observed pieces of broken glass on Beltran’s clothing. When officers returned to the involved vehicle they found the suspect gained access by breaking out one of the windows. Beltran was subsequently arrested for one count of Unauthorized Entry to a Motor Vehicle and one count of Criminal Mischief II. Beltran was issued a citation in lieu of custody at the request of the Coos County Sheriff’s Department who advised the jail was at full capacity.
