CBPD release – On 10/26/20 at approximately 0802 hours, Coos Bay Officers responded to a burglary report at 2305 Ocean Blvd., Coos Bay / North Bend Water Board main building site. When officers arrived, it was reported to them that the Water Board building had been broken into sometime over the weekend between Friday night after closing and Monday morning. Officers discovered that entry into the building had been made by breaking out one of the glass windows and that several items of value had been taken. Officers took the report and began investigating the burglary. After reviewing some details from a recent incident, a subject identified as Landon Williams became a person of interest. Williams had been involved in a recent burglary and was arrested on Saturday afternoon. Officers began looking around the area for Williams and at approximately 1231 hours, they located him near the Goodwill store in North Bend. Williams was detained on unlawful possession of Heroin. Williams was questioned about the Coos Bay / North Bend Water Board burglary and he gave the officers a full confession. He then provided the officers detailed information of the location of the majority of the stolen property. Officers were able to recover almost all of the stolen property and return it to the Coos Bay / North Bend Water Board. Williams will be referred to the District Attorney’s Office for the charges of Burglary II, Theft I, and Unlawful Possession of Heroin.
