Weather Alert, Dec. 6

National Weather Service Alert.  COLD SYSTEM TO BRING SNOW TO THE REGION. A COLD SYSTEM DROPPING IN FROM THE NORTH WILL BRING SNOW TO PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST OREGON AND NORTHERN CALIFORNIA LATER MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING. HEAVY SNOW WITH WARNING LEVEL ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED IN THE MOUNTAINS ABOVE 2000 FEET STARTING MONDAY AFTERNOON AND CONTINUING MONDAY NIGHT. THIS WILL AFFECT ALL CASCADE PASSES…INCLUDING SISKIYOU SUMMIT…AND EVENTUALLY THE LOWER PASSES ALONG INTERSTATE 5 NORTH OF GRANTS PASS WILL BE AFFECTED. SNOW LEVELS WILL LOWER TO AROUND 1500 FEET MONDAY NIGHT WHICH WILL BRING SNOW ACCUMULATIONS TO SOME VALLEY FLOORS. IMPACTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE ISOLATED IN CITIES LIKE MEDFORD…BUT THE HILLS JUST ABOVE TOWN MAY RECEIVE ENOUGH SNOW TO CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTY.
