Theft by Receiving
News release CCSO. On August 29, 2017 a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop of a Chevy Silverado on Lapping Road near Libby Lane for several traffic violations. During the investigation regarding traffic violations, a stolen Skidoo was located in the back of the involved pickup truck. It was learned through dispatch that the Skidoo had been reported as stolen from Coos Bay. Both the driver, Jason L. Hemion and the passenger Cody W. McAllister were arrested on the allegations of Theft I by Receiving. Additionally, Cody was referred to the district attorney for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. The presumed methamphetamine will be sent to the Oregon State Police Crime Lab to be tested and weighed. The vehicle was towed from the location as a road hazard and the stolen Skidoo was returned to its rightful owner. All subjects were transported to the Coos County Jail where they were booked into the facility on the above stated charges. Mr. Hemion is being held on $50,000 bail for Theft I and Parole Violation. Mr. McAlister was released on his own recognizance for Theft I.
