Couple
A North Bend couple, who allegedly harbored a wanted individual before his arrest Saturday, Nov. 28, at their home on the 500 block of Wall St., was referred to the Coos Co. District Attorney’s Office on charges of Hindering Prosecution. Twenty-eight year old Matthew Steve Medeiros and 29-year old Katrina Lea Medeiros allegedly allowed 33-year old Ronnie Beaver to stay at their apartment even though police were searching for him as a Robbery and Kidnapping suspect. Beaver was taken into custody and transported to the county jail at Coquille. According to a couple of entries on the North Bend Police log for Monday, Nov. 30, DHS visited the couple’s apartment at 11:40 a.m. Along with the two adults, three children, ages 1, 3 & 6 were in the residence. At 6:47 p.m., members of the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team (SCINT) and NBPD went to the apartment.
Can Thief
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Monday, Nov. 30, 8:16 a.m., 1800 block Grant St., “RP witnessed male subject steal cans from her neighbor’s residence. Officers responded/seized cans and returned them to victim’s residence. Will check with victims later to see if they want to pursue charges.”
Cougar
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Monday, Nov. 30, 1:55 p.m., 2600 block Virginia Ave., “RP believes there is a cougar across the street in vacant yard. Officers responded. ODF&W contacted and responded. ODF&W handling.”
Collar stuck
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Monday, Nov. 30, 5:26 p.m., Roosevelt St., “RP requested assistance in freeing his dog whose collar is stuck on fence. Officer responded/advised RP was able to get dog loose and they are both fine.”
