Port of Coos Bay report – The Oregon International Port of Coos Bay (Port) recently completed a security camera system upgrade project in the Charleston Marina Complex. The Port received a loan from Business Oregon to complete the upgrades, with a total project cost of $82,550. The project included replacing the old system with new cameras and integration system, as well as adding additional camera locations to increase coverage capacity. A total of 39 new cameras were installed, with new camera locations added at the Distant Water Fleet dock, the new Ice Plant facility, Point Adams, the RV Park, storage units, and throughout the Marina Complex. The new system has modernized security at the Marina, with increased options for programmability, motion detection, improved picture quality, and automatic patrols. This project removed virtually all dead zones within the Marina Complex, allowing the security team to monitor more effectively and maintain the quality of the environment for Marina patrons. The project kick-off took place on March 5th, 2020 and concluded on June 16th. The Charleston Marina Complex offers a wide array of amenities for both commercial and recreational fishermen, including a six-lane public boat launch, 100-space RV Park, fish cleaning stations, restroom and shower facilities, 400 moorage slips, tackle shops and restaurants, and a Shipyard.
