Former Siuslaw High School athlete Jake Thompson has reportedly inked a Major League Baseball contract and will join the Chicago White Sox. Thompson, an All American for Oregon State University, will receive a $350,000 signing bonus to become professional. With the Vikings, the 6-2, 201 lb. athlete played quarterback on the football team, was a starter in basketball and a two-time MVP as a right-hand pitcher in the Far West League before joining the Beavers as an Engineer Major.
