On 6/1/2017 at 11:42 pm, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a female, identified as 21 year old Kendall Smith, may have fallen into the water near the Hayden Bridge boat ramp in Springfield. Kendall was having a picnic with her friend near the water. The friend went to get a bag to gather up their belongings when he heard her scream, and what sounded like someone either falling or jumping into the water. Her friend contacted the Sheriff’s Office, and deputies responded and performed land and water searches but have not been able to locate Kendall. Neither Kendall’s friend nor her family has seen her since. Kendall stands 5’9″ tall, weighs approximately 135 pounds with wavy hair that falls below her shoulders and is dark with red tint. She was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans and was not wearing shoes. Anyone who has seen Kendall since June 1st is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 541-682-4141.
