Vehicle Pursuit Central Coast, Dec. 3

News release from the Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office. On December 1, 2015 at approximately 4:00 AM, a Deputy with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office observed a suspicious vehicle exit from a posted private driveway in the 300 block of N North Bank Rd in Otis. At approximately 4:01 AM, the Deputy saw a traffic violation and attempted to stop the suspicious vehicle on Highway 18 near milepost 1, but the vehicle failed to yield to his overhead lights and siren. The vehicle pursuit continued from Otis to Lincoln City, with the suspect vehicle driving eraticaly and at varying speeds the entire way. Once arriving in Lincoln City, Lincoln City Police joined the Deputy in the pursuit, and the suspect vehicle led them to the area of Chinook Winds Casino. After an extended time the suspect vehicle came to a stop on the west side of the Chinook Winds Casino Resort and the driver fled the vehicle on foot, leaving his female passenger behind. After a short foot pursuit, Raven Caleb Hatfield, 20, from Siletz, OR, was taken into custody and the vehicle he was driving was towed from the scene. Hatfield was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged for the crimes of Felony Elude (vehicle), Misdemeanor Elude (foot), Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering, Felon in Possession of a Weapon, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Methamphetamine, Criminal Mischief I, and Resisting Arrest. Hatfield was also found to be wanted on a No-bail Parole Warrant and was issued a citation for the Class A traffic violation of, Refusing to Obey a Flagger. Hatfield was lodged in jail with $325,000 bail.
